Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Jordan Anti Drugs Society and Al-Isra University

Amman – As part of strengthening community partnerships between academic institutions and civil society organizations, the Jordan Anti Drugs Society and Al-Isra University signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing joint efforts in raising awareness about the dangers of drug use and highlighting the role of higher education in combating this issue.

The MoU was signed in the Board of Trustees Hall at Al-Isra University by the University’s President, His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohammad Hamid, and the President of the Jordan Anti Drugs Society, Dr. Mousa Daoud Al-Tarifi.

The signing ceremony was preceded by an open dialogue session between His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohammad Hamid and the delegation from the Jordan Anti Drugs Society, which included members of the Public and International Relations Committee and the agreement coordinator, Mr. Talal Al-Alawin.

The MoU outlines plans to organize joint activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug use among university students and the local community. It also includes cooperation in conducting scientific studies and research addressing the phenomenon of drug abuse and ways to prevent it. Additionally, the agreement emphasizes the exchange of expertise between the two parties to strengthen the role of higher education in combating this social challenge.

In his remarks during the ceremony, His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohammad Hamid expressed his pride in this collaboration, emphasizing that the university prioritizes its role in serving the community through effective partnerships with civil society organizations.

Dr. Mousa Daoud Al-Tarifi highlighted the importance of collaborating with universities to spread societal awareness about the dangers of drugs, commending the leading role played by Al-Isra University in this area.

This partnership represents an additional step in enhancing national efforts to combat drug abuse through the integration of roles between academic institutions and civil society organizations.
